| The Lutheran Church—Hong Kong Synod (LCHKS) operates six Lutheran high schools, 10 elementary schools and 14 Kindergartens. These schools not only provide a quality education for local children, but also serve as an important outreach for the LCHKS since many of the students are not Christian. The measure of a quality school in Hong Kong is directly related to the students’ performance on national English tests. The Hong Kong Lutheran students, therefore, need an English-rich environment in order to continually improve these scores. The schools are asking for native English speakers to come work side-by-side with national English teachers to create this environment. Missionaries will also be responsible for providing after-school English and outreach activities such as leading Bible studies, English corners, and helping with the on-site Lutheran congregation. |
