Bergen, near Celle, Ger.; as young man attended services at Hermannsburg; entered Hermannsburg* miss. school; examined, ordained, came to Am. 1862; joined Wisconsin Syn.; pastor Algoma, Mosel (near Sheboygan), Fort Atkinson, and Watertown. (all in Wisconsin); mem. Wisconsin Syn. Indian Miss. Board.
