Using the LCMS Congregational Locator and Statistics Application
The LCMS Congregational Locator is designed to search for and identify
congregations in one of the following manners:
City alone (returns all congregations in that city no matter what state)
State alone (returns all congregations in that state)
City and state
or you may search by:
Zipcode alone (returns all congregations in that ZIP)
Zipcode and mileage range (distance in miles from the ZIP's population centerpoint)
or you may search by:
District alone
The locator will only search using the combinations above. If you enter more information it will perform
the first search combination that matches the above list in the following order:
Zipcode and mileage range (distance in miles from the ZIP's population centerpoint)
Zipcode alone (returns all congregations in that ZIP)
City and state
State alone (returns all congregations in that state)
City alone (returns all congregations in that city no matter what state)
District alone
Search Tips
Sometimes abbreviations in the names of cities--such as "St. Louis"--
are spelled out in the database as "Saint Louis." Also, pronouns that begin with
Mc, such as McHenry, may be found by typing "Mc Henry" (with a space between the
"c" and "h"). Pronouns beginning with an "O'" such as O'Hara may be found by
typing in "O Hara," again with a space between the "o" and the "h".
You may also find only those congregations with
schools or pre-schools by checking the indicated box.

The information and data provided from this application is maintained by the
Office of Rosters and Statistics of The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod.
Statistical information is updated annually. Other profile information and home
page links are updated as changes are requested. Changes may take up to a week
