The LCMS believes that education should address the whole person—body, mind and spirit—beginning in early childhood and through higher education.

Educating our children

Through early childhood programs, elementary schools and high schools, the congregations of the LCMS are dedicated to providing a solid Lutheran Christian education for our children by operating the largest Protestant parochial school system in America.   Schools are located throughout the United States so look for a quality Lutheran school near you.

University Education

The LCMS operates 10 colleges and universities across the United States through the Concordia University System.  These universities offer more than 160 undergraduate and 50 graduate programs. While each institution is unique, all ten campuses approach learning from a Lutheran context. The common goal is to develop Christian leaders for the church, community and world.

Seminary Education

God has blessed the LCMS with two excellent seminaries.  One is located in St. Louis, Mo., the other in Ft. Wayne, Ind.  Through a combination of residential and distance education programs, both seminaries form pastors and deaconesses for service in the LCMS.

As the mission field expanded beyond the United States, the LCMS opened schools throughout Asia in keeping with its strong focus on education.  Today, the LCMS operates three international schools.
