LCMS U Registration 2013

Help LCMS U provide accurate and accessible information to the Synod for all who are interested in campus ministry.
LCMS U is the new campus ministry initiative of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod through the Office of National Mission. It is the place to connect and support our students, congregations and campus ministries, so that we can boldly bear witness to Christ on our nation’s college campuses.
The challenges to Christians on campus are well known. On practically every college campus there are challenges to the Biblical worldview, doctrine, ethics, and practices. Thus, the chief purpose of LCMS U is to encourage, support, and aid students, faculty, and staff in their response to these challenges to the truth of God’s Word.
How will this be done? The initial areas of emphasis include:
- Chapter Network: While there are approximately 300 intentional campus ministry locations throughout the Synod, LCMS U will be introducing a chapter drive this Spring to improve our network and encourage the development of new campus outreach.
- Campus Ministry Training: LCMS U will host training opportunities throughout the year, beginning with an annual summer staff training institute in order to provide help to those interested in starting, or refocusing, campus ministry efforts.
- Student Involvement: LCMS U is working to increase the involvement of students so that their role is integral to the development of this emerging campus ministry support structure.
- Conferences: LCMU will continue to sponsor national campus ministry conferences such as the recently concluded UNWRAPPED gathering held this past January on the campus of Saint Louis University.

ABOUT THE NEW LOGO: This is a fresh look for the next generation of campus ministry. The green collegiate block U demonstrates our “Life Together” at the University level, while the blue pennant with cross represents the Synod’s bringing Christ to bear on that life together. |
