Serving the Lord in Papua New Guinea

Bio

Donna Meyer serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod as a GEO missionary in Papua New Guinea. She is a religious educator, which includes mentoring, encouraging and providing resources for Papua New Guineans who are also sharing Christ with others. She works with local Sunday school teachers, religious instructors from Lutheran primary schools and spiritual personal development teachers from elementary and secondary schools. Donna also has occasional opportunities to work with women and other special groups in the community who desire to learn and develop new skills. Donna previously served as a teacher in Guinea, West Africa, where she taught an elementary-level curriculum to the children of LCMS missionaries and most recently in Banda Aceh, Indonesia as an English teacher consultant.

Donna was born and raised in Nebraska and is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings, Neb. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska. Writing, reading, cooking and observing wildlife are among her hobbies.

Please pray for Donna: that she would continue to live a joy-filled life, have a positive impact upon the Papua New Guinean people with whom she works and courageously shine to the people of Papua New Guinea the reason for her peace and joy. Pray for the family she misses very much—including her mother; her adult son, Heath, his wife, Kathryn, and granddaughter Lily, son Nathan, his wife, Jodi, and grandchildren Trevor, Travis and Evelyn; and son Zachary.
