Beginning January 1, 2009, the IRS decreased the standard business mileage rate to 55¢ per mile (from 58.5¢).
The standard medical and moving mileage rate decreased to 24¢ per mile (from 27¢).
The rate used for charitable purposes, set by statute rather than IRS, remains at 14¢ per mile.
