The Concordia University System encourages an endowment effort to significantly increase the number of future Lutheran leaders for the church and society.  The effort has a twofold goal:

• Double the number of LCMS students on our college/university campuses.
• Raise $400 million in endowment funds to financially reduce the cost of students' education.

Endowments are needed to maintain fiscally strong institutions while at the same time financially assisting students to reduce their educational cost.  Lutheran university graduates are the future key leaders in our congregations and communities.

A teaching church is a church in mission!  Or as Martin Luther wrote:  "We must have and maintain Christian schools."
