In keeping with the major function of our seminaries to equip men for the holy ministry of Word and Sacraments in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, a variety of themes for pastoral education have been developed by the Board for Pastoral Education as planning and guiding posts for our seminaries.  In turn, our seminaries acknowledge various career paths and offer numerous courses of study to meet the needs and desires of the church.  Steeped in God’s Word and the Lutheran Confessions yet focused on the pastoral needs of today’s church, its people, and the world, our seminaries ultimately prepare pastors to fulfill the church’s unified vision for pastoral education, and the preservation and proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
