Another Indispensable Year for Seminarians!
They’re coming from all over…Michigan, Illinois, California, Texas…to begin classes this Fall at our seminaries. Once again, the faculties and staff at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO and Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN welcome another academic year aimed at preparing future pastors to lead congregations and engage the world with the truth that Jesus Christ alone is Savior of the world!
"These new students are the answers to the prayers of God’s people that He would raise-up workers for His harvest field,” commented Rev. Glen Thomas, Executive Director of the LCMS Board for Pastoral Education. “We thank God for them and pray that the Lord of the Church will bless the time these new students and families spend on our seminary campuses."
Indispensable to pastoral education is
- teaching and researching;
- developing curriculum and materials;
- operating and constructing education facilities;
- providing financial aid to seminarians;
- identifying and recruiting highly qualified faculty; and
- providing continuing education and distance education opportunities.
The LCMS Joint Seminary Fund provides our seminaries with essential funding. Gifts from individuals and congregations to the Fund afford both seminaries the resources and flexibility to address the areas of greatest need. In turn, our seminaries work diligently in preparing pastors called to proclaim the Word that creates faith and changes lives forever!
