Guardians are supporters of LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces who make annual commitments, provide regular gifts annually, semi-annually, quarterly, or monthly. You will be able to walk with our chaplains at the tip of the spear in proclaiming the Good News to our servicemen and women serving our nation around the world.

Guardians provide funds to reduce costs associated with tuition, travel expense, and training objectives for the new Doctor of Ministry with Military Concentration degree program, now offered at both our seminaries for LCMS military chaplains. In addition, your gift will enhance the training of all chaplains currently endorsed by LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces (238) and the recruitment of young men who seek endorsement to serve as chaplains with the military, the Veterans Administration, Civil Air Patrol, National Guard and Bureau of Prison ministries.

LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces is one of the front line agencies capable of reaching thousands of people with the Gospel message through our chaplains and our service men and women. For this reason, Guardians uses the tag line "Missionaries to the Military" to describe the ministry of our chaplains.

Our military chaplains operate in a unique and pluralistic religious environment. The pressing needs of the command are endless. Additional courses beyond basic theological education will provide for more effective crisis counseling, creative Gospel messages, and implementation of a variety of prevention programs.
