Shara Cunningham serves as a missionary in South Africa, where she serves as the Shongwe Village Orphanage coordinator, in partnership with the Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (LCSA). In this role, Shara provides administrative expertise for the local Lutheran pastor, which includes oversight of funds and providing training for South Africans in managing the orphanage’s financial affairs. She helps to coordinate efforts with local non-governmental organizations and the Lutheran church body in order to maintain good relationships. Shara reports to all of the partners working together on the orphanage regarding progress, needs, and problems.

Shara was born in St. Vincent, in the West Indies, and graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She has previously served on short-term mission trips to Uganda, Rwanda, Mexico, Peru, and South Africa. Shara’s home congregation is Christ Lutheran Church in Phoenix, Ariz. She enjoys going to the movies, reading, and working with kids.

Please pray for Shara as she serves in South Africa. She asks that supporters pray for the local pastor, the orphans that she serves, the people in the community where she lives, and the people of South Africa.
