Sent forth in joy as the "light of the world"!As the Global Gospel Outreach of the LCMS, together we send and support a total global missionary force of more than 1,100 people—including 889 missionaries (career, GEO, short-term, international educators, and other volunteers) and 223 military chaplains. Together, through this team of mission servants, the LCMS supports mission work and relationships in 88 countries, including the United States. LCMS World Mission gives thanks for the more than 500 congregations and 800 individual households currently partnering with LCMS missionaries and missionary families.

· Title: Concordia International School Shanghai--New High School Dedication Description: LCMS World Mission celebrates with the students and staff of Concordia International School Shanghai on the dedication of their new high school facility on Oct. 9. The new 12,000-square-meter, state-of-the-art high school will help Concordia continue to expand its educational opportunities and ministry among students from around the world. Concordias full student body, parents, and 70 special guests gathered to celebrate the event . · Title: 2009 Summer Poland English Camps Description: In July, 2009, 5 mission teams traveled to Poland to host 7 English Bible Camps. These camps were requested by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland and organized by the Center for Mission and Evangelism in Poland along with LCMS World Mission. Many children and adults were touched with the Gospel message, both by the American team members and the Polish Christians helping with these camps. Eighteen teams are needed in July of 2010.
