This page lists questions commonly received by LCMS Human Resources. Right now the list is relatively short. It will be added to as questions are asked.
The districts of the LCMS maintain information about available teaching positions within the LCMS. Click here for information on a specific district and contact names and addresses for staff members there. (HINT: On the linked page, click on the state's name in which you are interested. If that district has a website, it will be linked to the state name which sits atop the main list of congregations which appear for that area.)
A list of position descriptions for a variety of roles, both paid and unpaid, can be found on the Church Resource Page. This page is being constantly updated with new position descriptions and forms.
While LCMS Human Resources keeps resumes and applications "active" for six months, you should submit your resume and/or application specifically for each position in which you are interested. Sending them electronically is preferred, not only because it is easy and cheap for job seekers, but because it also works well for distribution to hiring managers at the LCMS.

Summer positions are offered here based on funding availability and the availability of work or projects that lend itself to that type of employment. Often that isn't known until relatively close to time. These opportunities can be in any one of a number of departments, including ministry departments (Missions, Human Care, etc.,) or in one of the operational areas (Building Operations, Accounting, Information Systems, etc.)
Internships are arranged individually, and on a limited basis. Should you like to be considered for an internship, please contact LCMS Human Resources with a cover letter and resume indicating your areas of interest.
