Tab_Description

Amount: $45,000

Jonathan Ekong Memorial Lutheran Seminary, located at the headquarters of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, trains both evangelists (two year, junior minister program) and pastors (three year, leading to ordination program). Presently over 60 students are enrolled. This project supplies about 75 percent of the resources required for salaries, property maintenance, and all program costs. 25 percent of the resources are provided through student fees and donations from organizations and individuals within the Lutheran Church of Nigeria. In the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, the seminary is often referred to as the powerhouse of the church. The seminary prepares men for ministry and mission throughout Nigeria. The seminary also regularly trains Lutheran students from other countries as well. The administration and teaching staff of the seminary consists of Nigerian pastors who had attended the seminary themselves. There is a growing amount of financial support for the seminary by the congregations of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria.
