Frederick Reinhardt is a missionary in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa, where he serves as the area facilitator for French-speaking Africa. In this role, Fred works with the African leadership of the various French-speaking Lutheran church bodies, the two other area facilitators in Africa, the Africa regional director, and Africa projects director. Previously, Fred served in northeastern Togo, from 2000 to 2007, which included his two-year vicarage for Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., where he participated in the Mission Formation Program. In Togo, Fred served as the mission’s business manager and worked in cooperation with the LCMS partner church body, The Lutheran Church of Togo, making ministerial visits and overseeing projects that impacted the Togolese church. One such project included outreach to the Moba people of Togo’s savannah region.
Fred’s home congregation is Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola, Fla. He is a “second-career” pastor and missionary, having enjoyed 21-year career in the civil and foreign service before going to Concordia Seminary in 1997.
Fred requests prayers for his continued safety and well-being in Senegal. Also pray that the West Africa mission team will continue to enjoy a good team spirit and working relationship for the sake of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout French-speaking Africa! Please pray that the Holy Spirit would continue to work powerfully through the Word all over the continent of Africa. And pray that the Ablaze! movement will erupt in growing missionary support and activity, spreading until at least 100 million unreached or uncommitted people are reached with the Gospel by the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017!
