The 72--Partners on the Road

Helping to equip the workers in the Lord’s harvest field!

Jesus tells his disciples, "Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Matt. 9:38).

Our Lord has answers the prayers of His disciples when we pray for workers for His fields. The appointed workers, who God sends into the field, are all believers in His Word. This, of course, includes LCMS members who worship and participate in the ministry of their local congregations. Yet, sometimes being a worker in this harvest field is difficult. Questions arise within the church and among individual members: "How do I witness to my friends, family, or coworkers?" or "How do we reach out to those who have recently fallen away?" or "How do we focus on outreach in our congregation?" 

The 72--Partners on the Road (formerly known as Harvesters for Christ) is a ministry which provides on-site training for congregations to assist them as they begin, revitalize, enhance, or expand their ministry to reach people with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The 72 teams consist of two or three volunteers, typically retired laity and church professionals, who are energized and have a passion for reaching those who do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Your financial support of this ministry will provide assistance to train more  volunteers to serve and train more congregations to achieve the goal of telling the Good News about Jesus to those who do not know Him. The 72 is working toward achieving the LCMS’ Ablaze! goal of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with 100 million unreached or uncommitted people by the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, and will continue to work beyond that number to reach all in our communities who need to know the love of their Lord, Jesus Christ.
