Short-term Team

Short-term teams can have three to more than 20 people who serve alongside LCMS missionaries and Lutheran partners to proclaim Christ for 1-2 weeks. Teams can be formed by congregations, families, friends, small groups, etc.

He [Jesus] told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field..”

Go and serve in His harvest field by forming or joining a short-term team today. Walk beside missionaries and Lutheran partners around the world as we all proclaim the hope and love we have in Christ to those lost in the dark around the world.

• Does your congregation, school, group, have a passion to use your God given gifts to His Glory?

Length of Service:

Typically 1-2 weeks. Take a moment to browse through the opportunity database.

Cost/Finances:

Vary on each trip. Teams are responsible for all travel and coordination costs. In some cases team may be responsible for any project costs. Download the Team support-raising manual for more information.

Team online application, placement consultation, and pastoral recommendation.

What if...you would like to join an existing team

Although the majority of the short-term team opportunities with LCMS World Mission are designed for teams from congregations, schools, and other pre-organized groups, we do have opportunities for individuals or couples to join teams. In order to join a team, each individual will have to follow the short-term missionary placement process.
