The ninth International Lutheran Theological Conference will be jointly sponsored by the International Studies office of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind., the Church Relations office of the president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in the Czech Republic (ECAC in the Czech Republic) and the Luther Society. Representation is also expected from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, England, the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, other Eastern European countries and the United States. Participants engage in open discussion of theological and ecclesial issues affecting those who are struggling to establish, maintain or restore Lutheran churches that are faithful to the Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions.
Under the theme “Lutheranism in the 21st Century,” this year’s conference will address a variety of critical issues facing the Lutheran church today with an emphasis on theological education.
