Rev. Gary Schuschke

Serving the Lord in Germany

Bio

The Rev. Gary Schuschke serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Frankfurt, Germany. Gary is the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, an English-speaking congregation in Frankfurt that has members from all around the world. The congregation reaches out to people of many backgrounds who live and work in the Frankfurt community and shares the Gospel in word and deed.

Gary’s hometown is Colorado Springs, Colo. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, in 1987. He received his Lutheran Teacher’s Diploma from Concordia College, Seward, Neb., in 1992. While at Concordia College, Gary completed his student teaching at the Hong Kong International School in Repulse Bay, Hong Kong. After receiving his teacher’s diploma, he taught at Lutheran schools in San Angelo, Texas, and Alexandria, Va.

Gary received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 2000. During his time at the seminary, he studied as an exchange student for one year at the seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England at Westfield House in Cambridge, England. From 2000 to 2018, he served as a pastor at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and School in Oviedo, Fla. During his time at St. Luke’s, he taught theology and New Testament classes for the LCMS Florida-Georgia District’s Concordia House of Studies.

Gary has served at Trinity, Frankfurt, since 2019. While there, he also has supervised student interns from the seminary in nearby Oberursel and helped to provide digital worship and Christian education for those around the world. His role allows him to continue to minister to those who have served in Germany but are now serving in other lands. In addition, he has been able to provide assistance to those from Ukraine. His greatest privilege has been sharing the Gospel with individuals who have never heard it before. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, sight-seeing, scuba diving, kayaking, hiking and reading.

Prayers

Pray for Gary as he serves in Germany. Ask God to continue to be with and bless the members of Trinity, Frankfurt. Pray that the Lord would open doors to reaching many more people in the Frankfurt area, both Germans and those from all over the world. Pray that Gary is effective in teaching and bold in witnessing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Let us give thanks for Gary’s service in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 12.5 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
