George and Margot Fretz

George and Margot Fretz

Serving the Lord in Thailand

Bio

George and Margot Fretz serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as GEO (globally engaged in outreach) missionaries in Thailand, based in Bangkok. George teaches English classes to intermediate and advanced students. Together they seek to nurture relationships with people in their community, to recruit new students and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them.

George and Margot’s hometown is Silver Lake, Ohio, and they attend Redeemer Lutheran Church, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. They have four grown children (three are married) and four grandchildren.

George received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y. He served in the Vietnam War as a United States Army helicopter pilot. In his career as a braking systems engineer, he has had the opportunity to visit several countries across Europe. George’s hobbies include bicycling, gardening and working on home projects.

Margot received a bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Ind. Her hobbies include leading Bible studies and bicycling.

George and Margot have participated together on two short-term mission trips - to New Orleans in 2006 (post-Hurricane Katrina) and to Liberia, West Africa in 2013.

Prayers

Pray for George and Margot as they adapt to a new culture and new language in Thailand. Pray that their eyes would be opened to individuals who are seeking the light of Christ. Ask God to give them the ability to share the Gospel with these individuals in a winsome way. Pray also for the hearts of people here in the United States who will partner with George and Margot to bring Christ’s saving message to people in that part of the world. Let’s give thanks for the Fretz’s service to God’s children in Thailand.
