Joanna Johnson

Serving the Lord in Taiwan

Bio

Joanna Johnson serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as a GEO (globally engaged in outreach) missionary in Taiwan. In this role, she teaches both English and Bible classes to elementary and middle school children. Joanna is also involved with a local congregation, giving her the wonderful opportunity to build relationships and share Jesus’ love with the local people.

Joanna grew up in Newton, N.C., and she calls St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover, N.C., her home congregation. She received a bachelor’s degree and her Director of Parish Music certification from Concordia University, St. Paul, St. Paul, Minn. Before serving as a GEO missionary in Taiwan, Joanna served on several short-term mission trips, three of which took her to Vyborg, Russia (2009 and 2012) and Southeast Asia (Sept.-Nov. 2015). She also worked as a preschool teacher at her home congregation prior to moving to Taiwan. In her free time, Joanna enjoys knitting, swimming and playing the guitar, trombone, ukulele and other musical instruments.

Prayers

Please pray for Joanna as she serves in Taiwan. Ask God to give her strength as she adjusts to the culture and learns the new language. Pray that God strengthens and unifies the staff of the school at which Joanna teaches. Pray that the school students and their families would grow in their faith or would come to faith in Jesus through the work Joanna is doing and the love of Christ she is sharing with them. Let us give thanks to God that Joanna is serving His children in this part of the world.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose.
