Each Easter, we consider how we have been given the ultimate gift: forgiveness and salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. That gift is pure joy to us, bringing us peace and hope that just have to be shared.
The 2019-21 National Offering is your opportunity to share that joy, to bring that peace and hope into dark and lonely places.
Ferguson, Mo., is one of the once dark and lonely places that has seen light and joy through the last triennium’s National Offering. Gifts given during 2016-18 helped support The Hope Center, which offers tutoring, mentoring and character-building programs for 9- to 18-year-olds.
Through support of the center, made possible by the gifts of the faithful, the Gospel has brought pure joy where there once was despair.
“It is undeniable that Lutheran education and tutoring can be not only life-changing but literally life-saving,” said the Rev. Dr. Steve Schave, director of LCMS Urban & Inner-City Mission. “And since all of our work is connected to the Gospel, it is transformative for families and their communities. The Hope Center was our way to help this fractured community go from hurting to healing.”
