J.P. and Aimee Cima

Serving in Vietnam

J.P. and Aimee, along with their children, have served in northern Vietnam for 10 years. They continue the LCMS’ 20+-year work of planting seeds for mercy and witness in this developing country. They coordinate mercy projects with local partners to address the physical and social needs among both rural and urban communities. Through the creation of the LCMS’ Play! café, a café and kids’ play space hybrid, J.P. and Aimee reach out to young, urban, middle-class families. They also partner with Vietnamese universities to provide leadership training and LCMS GEO personnel who serve by teaching English.

J.P. was born and raised in Richmond, Va., received his undergraduate degree in theology from Lenoir-Rhyne College in North Carolina and received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., after serving in Vietnam for two years as a vicar. Aimee (Crawford) was born in Tulsa, Okla., and raised in Richmond, Va. She has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in dietetics from James Madison University in Virginia. J.P. and Aimee have three beautiful children — Celeste, Isabella and Isaac.

All of J.P. and Aimee’s activities are done out of Christian love and service, that seeds planted would bear much fruit for this remarkable country. Join J.P. and Aimee in thanking God for these opportunities and praying for the people of Vietnam, that hearts would be open for the Great Sower of Seeds.

The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution differently. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.  Consistent with Synod Board policy, no more than 12 percent of a charitable contribution may be applied to administering gifts and communicating with contributors.  Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
