District Visitation

In Martin Luther 1528 work “Instructions for the Visitors of Parish Pastors in Electoral Saxony,” he begins by writing, “Both the Old and the New Testaments give sufficient evidence of what a divinely wholesome thing it would be if pastors and Christian congregations might be visited by understanding and competent persons.” In keeping with this scriptural and historic tradition, the Office of the President conducts a triennial district visitation, to assess the theological, organizational and fiscal health of LCMS congregations, schools, districts and related entities. This report forms the basis of this visitation discussion.
