About the National Convention
Every three years, representatives of the member congregations of the Synod meet in convention to direct the work, policies, programs, Constitution and Bylaws and church fellowship of the church body and direct the work of the LCMS International Center for the next three years.
2026 LCMS National Convention
The 69th Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod was held July 18–23, 2026, in downtown Phoenix.
The theme was “Christ Is Risen Indeed,” based on 1 Corinthians 15:20–22:
“But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.”
Constitutional Amendment
The 69th Regular Convention of the LCMS adopted Res. 9-14A, “To Amend Constitution Article XII 15 as to Call of Special District Conventions,” a resolution that will — if ratified — amend the Synod Constitution. This now requires ratification by congregations of the Synod.
