About
"Ashley Lehr serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Puerto Rico, based in Mayaguez. As a deaconess intern, Ashley teaches women and children and assists in ongoing evangelism and outreach activities. She also connects, equips and organizes local and international volunteers for service to Christ both on and off the island of Puerto Rico. These relationships of service and love create opportunities for sharing the Good News of Jesus in Word and deed, as well as for forming a church body that is known for serving its communities.Ashley’s hometown is Appleton, Wis., where her home congregation, Faith Lutheran Church, is located. She received a bachelor’s degree in social work, with a minor in communication, from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a nanny, as a student manager in dining services and as a peer minister at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead. She is currently studying at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind., pursuing an M.A. in deaconess studies. In addition, Ashley has participated in two short-term mission trips: to Haiti (2014) and Guatemala (2018).
Pray for Ashley as she serves the church and the people in Puerto Rico. Ask God to work through Ashley to bring the Good News to people who are desperate for words of hope. Pray for God’s guidance and faithfulness in her endeavors. In addition, ask God to give her strength and endurance as she continues to learn Spanish. Let us give thanks to God that Ashley is serving His children in this part of the world."
