Britt Odemba,

Serving the Lord in Kenya

Bio

Britt Odemba, her husband Micah and their children

Britt Odemba serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as a career missionary in Kenya. Britt works with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya as an educational consultant, helping them expand their education programs throughout the country. She serves primarily with Springs of Life Lutheran Church in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya, where she is helping to restore their school, Karama Academy. During her time in this role, she has facilitated a growth in the school’s enrollment and has assisted in its budget process and the hiring of new staff.

Britt is from Palo Alto, Calif., and she has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Concordia University, Irvine, Calif. Before Britt headed to the mission field, she served as a preschool teacher and director at Christ Lutheran School, Costa Mesa, Calif., from 2002 until 2012. God prepared Britt for her work in Africa through four short-term mission trips, three of which were in Kenya. During these trips, Britt helped at a rescue center, led vacation Bible school and taught health and hygiene classes. Britt’s hobbies include reading, hiking and spending time with her husband Micah and their children Rael and Silas.

Prayers

Please pray for Britt as she continues to serve in Kenya. Pray also for Micah and Britt as they begin their married life together bonded in the love of Christ. Ask God to guide them as they raise Rael and Silas in the Christian faith. Pray that God continues to bless the efforts of the staff at Karama Academy. Please pray for the students and school families as they learn more about God and His love for them. Let us thank God for Britt’s service to His children in Kenya.
