Ariana Gomez

About

Ariana Gomez serves as manager of Short-Term Mission for the LCMS Office of International Mission (OIM). In this role, she works with LCMS members as they prepare to serve as short-term volunteers in the international mission field. In particular, she provides guidance in the areas of making travel arrangements, managing risk, raising support, learning about the local culture and preparing spiritually.

Gomez joined the OIM in December 2022 as manager of Missionary Recruitment. Her focus in that role was recruiting laypeople for long-term missionary service. Prior to that, she served in various roles at St. Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia, Mo.; Lutheran Bible Translators; and other non-LCMS entities. Gomez earned her B.S. in Linguistics from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. Many of her professional and educational pursuits have been inspired by her experience growing up as an LCMS missionary kid in Togo and Ivory Coast, West Africa.

Gomez is married to Matias, and the Lord has blessed them with a baby girl due in October 2025.
