About

Your sins are forgiven on account of Jesus Christ! There is no better message you could hope to hear or endeavor to share. When you partner with the LCMS, you advance this Gospel and grow Christ's kingdom. Together, as the church, we are the very Body of Christ. We are busy spreading His Gospel through every means possible.

David A. Fiala is a mission advocate with the LCMS Mission Advancement unit. He serves people who contribute to the mission of the church and reside predominantly in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa. His father was a plumber, and Fiala views himself as a piece of pipe — “I connect things,” he says.

Fiala married his wife, Radka, in 2002. They have four children. Son Vašek and daughter Emma were both born in Slovakia while the Fialas were serving as LCMS missionaries in Central Europe. Twins Helen and Jonathan were born shortly after the family returned to the U.S. in 2014. The Fialas live in Herculaneum, Mo., and are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Festus, Mo.

Fiala has degrees from Concordia University, Nebraska, Seward, Neb., and Concordia University Chicago, River Forest, Ill. By education, he's a high school religion teacher and director of Christian education. By experience, he's an overseas missionary, missionary recruiter and mission advocate. By the grace of God, he is forgiven.
