About

Shane Smithson serves as director of Member Engagement with LCMS Mission Advancement. His team manages the constituent data of the LCMS, processes gifts to the organization and facilitates mailings. Smithson diligently aligns passions and interests with LCMS ministries and projects. He promises to listen, abide by the golden rule and help contributors find the most joy in giving. He is a lifelong LCMS Lutheran with German roots in southeastern Missouri. Born into a Christian household, he grew up knowing that faith and family is paramount.

God has sprouted a growing family through his wife, Chelsea, and their children: son Hudson and daughter Cecilia. Smithson is a Concordia University Wisconsin graduate who replanted in St. Louis. He has worked with a variety of nonprofits in St. Louis and enjoys giving back through volunteering.

“God richly and continuously blesses us with all that we need, and I believe He has called me to walk alongside my brothers and sisters in Christ to celebrate those endowments,” Smithson says. “Would you be willing to share your story with me? You are a valuable member of the Body of Christ!”
