Jamielynn Tinkey

Serving the Lord in the Dominican Republic

Jamielynn Tinkey serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as a missionary in the Dominican Republic. In her role as a nurse, she works to support missionaries and their families serving in the Latin America and the Caribbean region as an advocate for their physical, spiritual and emotional health. She also serves the church plants in the Dominican Republic as she organizes public health education seminars, goes on visits alongside pastors and vicars and supports disability ministry activities. Jamielynn intentionally shares the Gospel through the relationships she builds in both the church and the community.

Jamielynn’s hometown is Warsaw, Ind., and her home congregation is St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bremen, Ind. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN, RN) from Valparaiso University. In the past, Jamielynn worked in long-term and hospice care, as well as two summers as a camp ministry intern for Bethesda Lutheran Communities. In her free time, she enjoys exploring her new home in the Dominican Republic through travel, reading books and listening to podcasts or music.

Please pray for Jamielynn as she serves the church and people in the Dominican Republic and the missionaries around the region. Pray for safety in her daily activities and her witness to Jesus Christ and His Gospel in both word and deed. Pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ who live in the Dominican Republic, that they may continue to join together in Word and Sacrament as they reach out in love and mercy to those around them. Let us give thanks to God that Jamielynn is serving His children in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution differently. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.  Consistent with Synod Board policy, no more than 12 percent of a charitable contribution may be applied to administering gifts and communicating with contributors.  Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
