Jamielynn Tinkey

Serving the Lord in the Latin America and Caribbean Region

Bio

Jamielynn Tinkey, B.S.N., R.N., serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in the Latin America and Caribbean region, based in the Dominican Republic. In her role as regional life coordinator, Jamielynn uses her nursing background and skills to promote life across this region, providing resources that meet the needs of both partner churches and mission plants in distinct countries as they approach topics such as abortion, adoption, disability, sexual orientation, euthanasia, etc. She cares for the missionaries and their families serving in the Latin America and Caribbean region as an advocate for their physical, spiritual and emotional health. She promotes health initiatives in the Dominican Republic and is involved in local disability ministry. Jamielynn intentionally shares the Gospel through the relationships she builds in all her activities.

Jamielynn was born and raised in Warsaw, Ind., and her home congregation is St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bremen, Ind. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing (B.S.N.) from Valparaiso University in 2016. She has worked in long-term and hospice care, and camp ministry for adults with disabilities alongside Bethesda Lutheran Communities. She also completed three years as an LCMS GEO (globally engaged in outreach) missionary before transitioning into a new career missionary position. In her free time, Jamielynn enjoys walking in the new botanical gardens in Santiago, listening to podcasts and music, and finding a new book to read.

Prayers

Pray for Jamielynn as she serves the churches and people around the Latin America and Caribbean region, especially in the Dominican Republic. Pray for her daily witness to Jesus Christ in both word and deed. Pray for her safety in travel and daily activities. Pray for her transition into her new position, and that hearts may be opened to see the gift of life. Give thanks for the clear Gospel that is being preached across the region and the opportunity Jamielynn has to continue serving God’s church in this way.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose.
