Symposium for hymn writers Nov. 10-14 at CTSFW

Christians and Social Media

“Teach Us Jesus Christ to Know Aright,” a symposium for hymn writers and translators, is scheduled for Nov. 10–14, 2019, at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The symposium is offered in tandem with 20th Annual Conference of the Good Shepherd Institute.

Attendees will work alongside other writers, critiquing and discussing their work while singing and writing tunes to their texts.

Kids in the Divine Service

Kids in the Divine Service

Kids in the Divine Service is a series of bulletin inserts featuring seasons of the church year to instruct children about parts of the worship service.

The inserts can be used in Sunday morning bulletins, as Sunday school resources and in newsletters.

Hymn of the Day Studies

The Word in Song is a series of Hymn of the Day Studies to use with the Three-Year Lectionary and One-Year Lectionary.

Using Lutheran Service Book, the series features seasons of the church year — Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter and Pentecost.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution differently. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.  Consistent with Synod Board policy, no more than 12 percent of a charitable contribution may be applied to administering gifts and communicating with contributors.  Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
