Gerald and Heidi Paul

About

The Rev. Dr. Gerald and Heidi Paul serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as career missionaries in Peru. As a pastor, church planter and missionary team lead, Gerald serves with other missionaries and members to reach out to the people of the city of Lima and surrounding areas with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Gerald is also an adjunct professor at Concordia the Reformer Seminary in the Dominican Republic, where he teaches seminary students online.
Heidi seeks to support these mission efforts wherever she can, and she is currently getting to know the members of the mission team as well as members of the very active ladies’ group: Unión de Damas Luteranas del Perú.
Gerald and Heidi both hail from South Africa. Gerald graduated with his Master of Divinity and doctorate in missiology from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne. Heidi earned her teaching degree in South Africa and her master’s degree in early childhood education in Montana. They grew up speaking four languages (German, Afrikaans, English and Zulu), and they started studying Spanish in 2021, which greatly benefited their mission work with the multicultural, multilingual population of the Cayman Islands and now in the full-time Spanish mission in Peru. Gerald served as a parish pastor in South Africa, Wyoming, Montana and on Grand Cayman prior to serving in Peru.
Pray for Gerald and Heidi as they serve the Lord in Peru. Ask the Lord to give them perseverance, joy and encouragement in proclaiming the Gospel. Let us give thanks that they are ministering to God’s children in this part of the world.
