About

Hannah Potantus serves the Lord as a missionary through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Tanzania. In her role as an academic support specialist, Hannah supports local missionary families through her work as a homeschool teacher for missionary children. She supports the regional communication team through her written work, composing articles to help increase awareness and support for the work being done on the mission field throughout Africa. She is also helping to develop a bachelor’s level writing lab at the local seminary, the Bishop Makala Training Center, where women are trained as deaconesses and men study to become evangelists and pastors.

Hannah is from Cleveland, Ohio, and her home congregation is Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Parma, Ohio. She received her M.A. in English from Case Western Reserve University, where she also worked as a tutor in the writing center while earning her degree. She has experience working as an elementary school teacher and librarian in Lakewood, Ohio. Hannah enjoys reading, writing and singing.

Pray for Hannah as she serves in Tanzania. Ask God to give her comfort, strength and guidance as she transitions to a new location, language and culture. Give thanks to God that Hannah is serving God’s people in Africa.
