Seven Practices of Healthy Youth Ministry
Serving the church’s youth is one of the greatest privileges there is.
As children receive the gifts of Christ, they grow in faith and in love toward one another. LCMS Youth Ministry is honored to work behind-the-scenes supporting this joyful work of raising and forming young people in the faith.
There is so much available for youth and those serving in youth and family ministry: think LCMS Servant Events, leadership opportunities, resources like Bible studies and devotions, the LCMS Youth Gathering, and more. By working with LCMS congregations and districts, LCMS Youth Ministry supports this important work, so that the young people of our church connect with one another and see how the Lutheran faith permeates all of life, both at home and around the world.
This program equips teens to develop and use their leadership skills as they serve Christ within their congregations and communities. The program offers resources, training and mentorship to high school youth lead now and into the future.
Service opportunities help young people grow by learning to use their skills in services to church and the world. These events provide an opportunity for youth to put their faith into action and share the Gospel.
Each district is allowed to send up to two youth representatives to the convention, according to Bylaw 3.1.4.6.
Directors of Christian education are one of the seven auxiliary offices that support the work of the Holy Ministry.
This year’s YouthLead training focused on apologetics.
Every three years, thousands of youth and adults come together for the LCMS Youth Gathering, where together they learn about the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity and find encouragement, community and opportunities to serve their neighbor.
