Zachary Turley

Vicar   •   Serving the Lord in Japan

Bio

Zachary Turley serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as a missionary in Japan. As a vicar in the international mission field, Zachary is preaching the Word of God, teaching biblical truths and sound Lutheran doctrine, and assisting with the liturgy during Divine Services. He also assists with administrative duties, visitation and campus outreach to local students so they may hear the Gospel as well.

Zachary was born in Clinton, Md., and lives in Henderson, Nev. He graduated from Martin Luther College and is currently a student at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW). While in school, Zachary has worked part-time as a Walmart sales associate, a custodian and a student worker on campus at CTSFW. Zachary did his field work at Faith Lutheran Church in Roanoke, Ind., and summer field work at his home congregation, Grace Lutheran Church in Henderson, Nev. In his free time, Zachary enjoys lifting weights, climbing, reading and playing guitar.

Prayers

Pray for Zachary as he serves in Japan. Ask God to give him wisdom, strength and patience as he journeys to this new part of the world. May he stay steadfast in faith and grow from this experience. Pray for Zachary’s family during this time apart, and ask God to watch over him. Pray also for the people that Zachary meets, that they would eagerly receive the Gospel and that the church in Japan would grow according to God’s will. Give thanks to God for sending Zachary to serve His children in this part of the world.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Inc., including Mission Central (in Mapleton, Iowa), is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose, when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose. Occasionally, we may receive more in contributions for a particular purpose than can be wisely applied to it in the foreseeable future or the purpose may cease to be feasible. In these situations, the LCMS will make reasonable attempts to contact contributors to apply their contribution toward another aspect of ministry that aligns closely the contributor’s goals and values. If a contributor cannot be contacted, the LCMS will use the gift to meet a similar pressing need that most closely matches the contributor's original intent.

Consistent with Synod Board policy and in recognition of a more challenging economic and philanthropic/fundraising environment due to inflationary pressure, not more than 14 percent of any charitable contribution will be allocated to administering gifts and communicating with contributors. Contributions received and accepted by the LCMS are deemed to be in agreement with this statement.
