Prior to its triennial conventions, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod collects nominations for the various officer, board and commission positions to which it must elect individuals for service.
Nomination forms (ballots) are required to be completed so that the Secretary of the Synod and the Committee for Convention Nominations are able to carry out their responsibilities related to the nomination processes.
The Secretary of the Synod is responsible to collect nominations for the President, First Vice-President, regional vice-presidents and all other elected positions that require regional representation.
The Committee for Convention Nominations is responsible to review all nominations collected by the Secretary of the Synod and select slates of candidates for all other elected offices, boards and commissions.

The Synod presidential election will be conducted prior to the convention. Elections for all other officers, select members of various boards and commissions will be held during the convention.
