2017 National March for Life

Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod members were among the tens of thousands who participated in the 44th annual National March for Life in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Jan. 27.

The March for Life protested the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision to legalize abortion, and LCMS Life Ministry and other pro-life supporters gathered to bring attention to the millions of children who have lost their lives because of abortion.

The LCMS continues to make a strong theological case for the sanctity of life from the moment of conception. Before the March for Life, the Synod held a Divine Service at The Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel, and the LCMS Life Conference was Jan. 27-29 in nearby Arlington, Va.
