Mission and Ministry work in Asia

Through the Word of God and the Sacraments, God calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies his people. In the Asia region, we work to train pastors, church leaders, and laity to share this Gospel in word and deed. We also work with partners all over Asia to plant churches, show mercy, and provide Lutheran education.

As we point to Christ, the Holy Spirit gathers together God’s called people into churches all over the region to encourage and build them up in this faith we have received. We look forward to partnering with you to share the Gospel here in Asia

Project: Sri Lanka Mission
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s (LCMS) church body partner in Sri Lanka, the Ceylon Evangelical Lutheran Church (CELC), needs funding to support, maintain and grow its ministry presence in this South Asian island nation of mostly Buddhists and Hindus. There are currently some 15 worshiping Lutheran congregations and mission stations with more than 600 members. Four ordained pastors and five evangelists serve this faith community through preaching, teaching and outreach. Lutheran churches and mission stations are located around the island. The CELC longs to reach more people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

During the Pandemic: Preparing Resources for Papua New Guinea
Even as the coronavirus pandemic keeps Dr. Martin Dicke away from his mission field of Papua New Guinea, he is working on the completion of valuable teaching resources in the local languages of Pidgin English and Enga.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose.
