Eric Kunkel,
Serving the Lord in Macau

Bio

Eric Kunkel serves the Lord as a GEO missionary through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in Macau, a special administrative region of China. (GEO missionaries are globally engaged in outreach and serve for terms of 1-2 years in locations around the world.) As a service coordinator, Eric oversees logistics and planning for short-term teams sent throug the LCMS and guides the teams during their stay in Macau. In times between hosting teams, he teaches English in a local school. Through these tools he will be able to build relationships with people and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the Holy Spirit provides opportunities in the context of these relationships.

Eric is from Bolingbrook, Ill., and is a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Naperville, Ill. He graduated from Joliet Junior College in Joliet, Ill., with an associate’s degree in management and supervision. Eric’s previous mission service experience includes a week in Guatemala through Thrivent Builds (Habitat for Humanity) and a week in Biloxi, Miss., in 2005, serving through LCMS World Relief and Human Care to provide post-hurricane disaster response. In his free time, Eric enjoys reading, watching movies, biking and playing golf.

Prayers

Please pray that the Lord would bless all the work carried out by Eric and his fellow missionaries in Macau. Ask God to open the hearts of people in Macau to the Gospel. Pray for the Lord to keep and protect Eric, so that he may return home safely at the conclusion of his missionary service. Finally, ask God to provide the prayer and financial support needed to sustain Eric’s ministry by bringing forth faithful partners in mission.
