Kristin Matasovsky,
Serving the Lord in South Africa
Bio

Kristin Matasovsky serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church— Missouri Synod as a GEO missionary. (GEO missionaries are globally engaged in outreach and serve in locations around the world for terms of 1-2 years.) In this role, Kristin teaches at St. Peter Christian College, a Lutheran primary school in the township of Middelburg. She also builds relationships with families in the community and looks for ways to share God’s love.
Kristin was born in Kearney, Neb., and she grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa. In 2007, she graduated from Concordia University Nebraska, Seward, Neb., with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a concentration in special education. Before moving to South Africa, Kristin taught second and third grade at St. Paul Lutheran School in McAllen, Texas. She considers both St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and St. Paul Lutheran Church in McAllen to be her home congregations. In her spare time, Kristin enjoys photography, crafts, reading and playing guitar. She has also participated in three short-term mission trips, including one to Belize in 2005.
Prayers
Please pray for Kristin and her work in South Africa. She writes, “Please pray for the transition process of moving and becoming acclimated to my new home in a new culture. I ask for prayers for the growth of our school family as we add more grade levels. I give thanks for providing strong support here in the United States and for those willing to partner with me and the mission in South Africa.” Give thanks to God for Kristin’s service to the people of South Africa.
