Serving the Lord in Slovakia

Bio

Karin Moore serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod as a GEO missionary in Levice, Slovakia. (GEO missionaries are globally engaged in outreach and serve for one- to two-year terms.) Karin is based out of a local congregation of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Slovakia. She teaches English classes in local public schools and works with women’s groups at the local congregation. Through both of these ministries, Karin builds relationships, prays for opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ and seeks to connect people to the local congregation. Prior to living in Levice as a GEO missionary, Karin previously served there on short-term mission teams sent by her congregation in the United States.

Karin is from Pensacola, Fla., where she is a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She holds a Bachelor of Science in education with an emphasis in social studies and a Master of Science in education and supervision. She taught for many years and now serves as the ministry assistant at Grace Lutheran Church. Karin is also a graduate of the Lay Ministry Training Institute and has previously served in a short-term capacity in Levice, Slovakia, and among American Indians on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. In her free time, Karin enjoys walking, reading, crocheting and needlework.

Prayers

Please pray for Karin as she serves in Slovakia — that the Lord would use her as His light among her students, their families, women at the congregation where she serves and all whom she may encounter. Ask the Lord to ease her transition into living in another culture and to comfort her as she serves far from home. Finally, give thanks that Karin has answered God’s call to serve in this capacity!
