Get equipped — national training events:

Participants from across the country joined together Oct. 8-10, 2012, at the LCMS International Center in St. Louis for the 4th LCMS National Disaster Response Conference, “The Church in Action — Preparing for and Responding to Disasters.”  Throughout the conference, speakers addressed a four-part approach to disaster response:

• Mercy in Disaster Response: Demonstrating the unconditional compassion and love of God in Jesus Christ through works of mercy
• Fidelity in Disaster Response: Demonstrating faithfulness to Holy Scripture, the Lutheran Confessions and the mission of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
• Integrity in Disaster Response: Demonstrating honor and accountability in our relationships with partners and donors
• Capacity in Disaster Response: Developing and strengthening internal resources to meet human-care needs
