Ivan and Jennifer Rasch,
Serving the Lord in West Africa (based in Ghana)

Bio

Ivan and Jennifer Rasch have been serving the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in West Africa since 1999. The Rasches now live in Ghana. In his role of volunteer coordinator for English-speaking West Africa, Ivan works in The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, helping to connect American short-term missionaries and missionary teams with work being done in our partner Lutheran churches. He also serves as the assistant to the LCMS area facilitator. Jennifer helps Ivan with hosting short-term missionaries and missionary teams. She also serves the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana by contributing in a variety of ways to the Lutheran schools in Ghana.

Ivan was born in Jos, Nigeria, the son of a missionary family. He graduated from Concordia University Nebraska, Seward, Neb, with a degree in secondary education majoring in math and physics. In his free time, he enjoys working with computers and playing volleyball. Jennifer was born in Lawton, Okla., and also graduated from Concordia University Nebraska with a major in elementary education and a concentration in music. Jennifer enjoys singing, piano, crafts and scrapbooking. The couple has two children, Heather and Timothy. Timothy is with his parents in Ghana, assisting with mission work and completing high school through online schooling. Heather is in the United States for her senior year of high school and then college. Their home congregation is St. Paul Lutheran Church in Denton, Texas.

Prayers

Ivan and Jennifer ask, “Pray for safety in travel. Pray for workers who are willing to connect with partner churches and help them in their ministry. Pray for the Lutheran Churches in West Africa, that they may hold steadfastly to the truth of Christ as they spread the Gospel message to the unreached. Pray that God will continue to use Jennifer to share the Gospel through education. Pray for our family as we begin to go our separate ways.”
