Deirdre Batiansila Christiansen

Serving the Lord in Germany

Bio

Deirdre Batiansila Christiansen serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as a missionary in Germany. In this role, she assists SELK German congregations in providing outreach to refugees from the Middle East. She teaches these refugees about the Christian faith and helps lead outreach activities. Through the interactions she has with these individuals, she provides them compassionate support, friendship, and she shares with them the love of Christ.

Deirdre’s hometown is New Orleans, La. Her home congregation is Luther Memorial Chapel, Shorewood, Wis. Her hobbies include reading, sewing and costuming, New Orleans cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Prior to serving in Germany, Deirdre served as a children’s program teacher (International Student Ministry), a youth group coordinator, and a vacation Bible school teacher. She also volunteered for three weeks in 2006 to help clean up from Hurricane Katrina.

Prayers

Pray for Deirdre as she serves in Germany. Ask God to call the individuals she meets and serves in Germany to the Gospel, so they can receive the redeeming gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Pray that God continues to bless and sustain Deirdre’s mother and Deirdre’s four married children and their spouses. Pray for Deirdre’s son Temish who will be with her in Germany before he leaves to attend college. Let us give thanks that Deirdre is serving God’s children in this part of the world.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose.
