Missouri Synod president to address federal committee on birth control rule

What:     The Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), will be one of several witnesses to testify during the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s hearing, “Lines Crossed: Separation of Church and State. Has the Obama Administration Trampled on Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Conscience?”

When:    9:30-11:30 a.m. EST Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012

Where:   2154 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.

Why:      Harrison has issued two letters to the church about the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ birth control rule. The statements can be found at www.lcms.org/hhsmandate.
