The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod
In 2002, a Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod survey team visited Afghanistan where they formed a partnership with People of the Book Lutheran Outreach (POBLO) in a joint effort to aid projects in central Asian countries.
Though Afghanistan has not opened fully, Afghans have the opportunity to experience the love of our Lord through the service of His people. The Martin Luther Learning Center is one place where this outreach takes place.
In the same year, the LCMS began supporting health clinics with equipment, supplies and transportation services. It also assisted a lapidary (gems) training and employment project.
