Flood Relief

Each year, thousands of families are affected by flooding as a result of seasonal rains, melting snow pack and tropical storms. The LCMS’ disaster response ministry reaches out to those in need, building Lutheran capacity to provide physical and spiritual care in the name of Christ.
 
Since the 2011 floods in Minot, N.D., the LCMS has contributed, with the help of generous donors, nearly $575,000 for flood relief and recovery in North Dakota. In recent years, LCMS donors have responded generously to flooding in Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Tennessee, and as far away as Pakistan and Guatemala.
