David and Radka Fiala - The Lutheran Church

Bio

David and Radka Fiala serve as LCMS missionaries in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, and they are based in Žilina, Slovakia. David works with and assists national churches and their leaders to design and implement various mission projects and coordinates outreach activities in this region. In addition, he oversees and supports GEO missionaries and coordinates short-term mission trips. David and Radka served as long-term missionaries for three years in Tisovec, Slovakia, before transitioning to their current position as career missionaries and moving to northwestern Slovakia.

Born in DuPage County, Ill., David received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology along with a Nebraska Teaching Certificate from Concordia University, Seward, Neb. Prior to graduating, he served as a long-term missionary in Slovakia for a year. Recently, David received his director of Christian education degree from Concordia Nebraska, and he’s currently enrolled in an online Master’s program at Concordia Chicago. In his free time, David enjoys playing with his children, playing guitar, and being outdoors. Radka was born in Brezno, Slovakia. She also attended Concordia University Nebraska, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with majors in English and Theology and an endorsement in English as Second Language. Her hobbies include music, reading, and spending time with family and friends. David and Radka have a son, Vašek, and a daughter, Emma. Their home congregation is Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Milford, Neb.

Please pray that God would bless David and Radka and the other members of their team in Eurasia and grant them wisdom and perseverance as they serve. Pray that God would bless the relationships that they develop and that the people they serve would come to know their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
